Biography

Christopher Irene Imumolen (born 5 September 1983) is the Addo of Abaji, an educationist, a university professor, a serial entrepreneur, a business mogul and a Nigerian Politician. He is the founder of Joint Professional Training and Support International Limited (JPTS) and UNIC Foundation, a non-profit, non-governmental organization.

He is a presidential candidate on the platform of the Accord Party, ahead of the 2023 Nigerian presidential elections. Imumolen is an indigene of Esan West, Ekpoma in Edo State. He started his work career as a Plant Engineer at BOC Gases Nigeria Plc in February 2005.

In 2009, he established the Joint Professional Training and Support International Limited (JPTS), an educational body that has trained over 30,000 certified professionals. Ex-Senator Dino Melaye is also an alumnus of the institution, following honorary conferment.

After founding JPTS, on 14 January 2014, Imumolen established the UNIC Foundation, an empowerment and employment scheme aiming to support four million Nigerian businesses annually with grants and scholarships for widows and students.

He is President of the Onshore Offshore Oil and Gas Professional Association and served as the Senior Technical Adviser to the Akwa-Ibom State Government on Oil and Gas matters. He was also the Technical Safety Consultant to NAPECO Kuwait.

Christopher holds two Ph.D. degrees in Engineering Research and Educational Management, along with three master’s degrees and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. His primary education was at Twins Nursery and Primary School, Papa Ajao, Lagos, and secondary education at Nigeria Model High School, Idioro, Mushin, Lagos.

He was installed as the Addo of Abaji by His Royal Highness Adamu Baba Yunusa, the Ona of Abaji, on 11 December 2021. Post-installation, he committed to community development, security collaboration with authorities, and plans to establish educational institutions offering scholarships to indigenes.

On February 8, 2022, Imumolen launched a two-billion-naira education scholarship trust fund for entertainers in Nigeria, benefiting musicians like Small Doctor and B-Red. He described it as a promise to uplift celebrities and encourage education as a means of nation-building.

In 2019, through his empowerment program, he supported over 6,000 Nigerians with financial grants for businesses (ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 each). He also released over 200 inmates detained for bailable offenses.

On 30 January 2021, Imumolen aligned with the Accord Party and announced his candidacy for Nigeria’s highest office. He stated that Nigerians cannot continue to remain passive with the nation’s current state. At 39 years old, he is the youngest presidential candidate in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election.
