About NGElections

NGElections is Nigeria's election database. We track candidates, results, and political careers across presidential, governorship, senate, house of representatives, and state assembly elections.

Data Sources

Candidate and election data is compiled from official sources including INEC publications, verified reference databases, and Nigerian news outlets. Where data comes from a specific source, we attribute it on the relevant candidate page.

Some biographies are edited from their original source material for length and consistency. The source and its citation still appear on the candidate page regardless of whether the text was edited.

Coverage

We hold 14,963 politicians and 15,281 candidacies across 12 elections, covering the 2027, 2023 and 2019 cycles. That spans all five election types: Presidential, Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly, in 37 states and territories.
