NGElections operates the website ngelections.com. This page explains how we collect and use information when you visit our site.

Information We Collect

NGElections does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information through the website.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data including pages visited, time spent on pages, referring websites, and general location (country/city level). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email Subscriptions

When you subscribe to election updates, we store your email address in our database and use Brevo to send our emails. We do not sell your email address or use it to send marketing from other organisations. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email or by emailing hello@ngelections.com.

The Vote Ready Checklist

The checklist at /vote-ready/ keeps your progress in your own browser, not on our servers. It records only that you marked a step done, and the date you did. It never asks which candidate or party you support, and it never receives your voter identification number, PVC number, polling unit, or address. Those stay between you and INEC.

We measure checklist visits, which steps are marked done or undone, and which polling-day calendar files are downloaded. These usage events use our existing analytics, including session identifiers and request IP addresses. Links to INEC are also measured with their destination URL. We do not receive your answers on INEC or your journey arrangements.

Anyone else using the same browser can see the ticks, so the page has a "Reset checklist" button. The saved plan stops being read after the final polling day of the cycle it belongs to.

Cookies used on this site include those set by Google Analytics for anonymous traffic analysis.

Data About Politicians

Candidate and politician information is sourced from publicly available records and official electoral publications. This relates to public figures acting in their public capacity.
