How to get ready to vote in 2027
Check my voter record or PVC status
Your PVC is the permanent voter card INEC issues to a registered voter. Open the portal to review your registration and see whether a card is waiting for you.
Registered voters can still review their record, track a PVC application, and find the collection centre held for it.
Confirm my polling unit
Your polling unit is the place where you are registered to vote. The locator finds it from your state, local government and registration area.
INEC says the directions the locator gives are approximate, and advises visiting the location before election day to confirm it.

INEC's portal says the Continuous Voter Registration exercise is not currently active. The published 2025–2026 cycle ran to 30 August 2026, and no new window has been announced. We cannot register you, and neither can anyone else offering to. Watch INEC's portal for the next window.

Frequently asked questions
- Should I visit my polling unit before election day?
- Yes. INEC says the directions its polling unit locator gives are approximate, and advises visiting the location beforehand to confirm it.
- What if I cannot finish a step yet?
- Leave it unticked and carry on with the steps you can do. Come back when you have what you need. You can undo any tick if your plans change.
- What should I include in my journey plan?
- Decide when to leave, how you will travel, and what you will do if your first transport option falls through. Check the arrangements again before each polling day.
- What if the INEC portal will not load?
- Try again later and leave the check unticked until you can confirm it. You can still plan your journey and add the polling days to your calendar while you wait.
