What we keep on each politician

Most election sites are built around races. We build around people. One politician, one profile, every race they have run. You can follow a career from a first failed senate bid to a governorship.

  • Party, state, constituency, result and vote count for every race.
  • A career timeline going back through every cycle.
  • Promises against track record: what a candidate pledged in a race, set beside what they did in office.
  • Nomination status for upcoming races, with a source link and the date we checked it.
  • Any two candidates, compared side by side.

Where the data comes from

Candidate lists and results come from INEC, the Independent National Electoral Commission. Results go up only once certified. We do not project and we do not call races.

Biography and career detail comes from public, attributable reference sources and Nigerian newsrooms. Every sourced fact carries its citation, including biographies we shorten.

For races still ahead, a nomination status needs a published report from a recognised Nigerian newsroom, and carries that link and the date we checked it. Unsourced, we leave it blank.

Corrections

If a record is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Email hello@ngelections.com with the page and what is wrong. Corrections to sourced facts need a source.
