Biography
Julius Ggabojor Pondi (born 19 November 1978) is a Nigerian politician, member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria since 2015. He represents Burutu Federal constituency of Delta State and is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
In the House of Representatives, he has been involved in legislative efforts, including a motion on the Destruction of National Assets in the Niger Delta region and the Consequential Military Siege. Raised on 21 January 2016, this motion urged the military to ensure protection of innocent natives, especially the aged and children, during hostilities, and mandated investigations into causes of violence in the Niger Delta.
He also raised a motion on the Massive oil Spill at the Shell Forcados Export Pipeline on 25 February 2016, calling for forensic investigations into the rupture and its impact on communities and ecosystems in Delta and Bayelsa states.
On 9 March 2016, Pondi moved a motion to mandate the use of life-jackets and other safety gadgets in maritime travels. This motion urged the federal government to develop a national policy on maritime safety, mandated investigative hearings on maritime accidents, and improved response and rescue activities during emergencies.

In 2016, he conducted empowerment programs in collaboration with government agencies and parastatals. On 8 February 2016, he distributed starter kits (hairdressing, tailoring, and barbing) with cash gifts to 70 constituents. On 17 March 2016, he partnered with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to train 100 youths and women on basic human rights, adopting them as ambassadors. On 1 April 2016, he empowered over 250 constituents with tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, solar lamps, and cash gifts as part of a mega empowerment campaign.
