Biography

Julius Ggabojor Pondi, born on 19 November 1978, is a Nigerian politician who has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2015.

He represents Burutu Federal constituency in Delta State and belongs to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

His legislative work includes advocating for motions like one on the destruction of national assets in the Niger Delta region and military sieges, aimed at protecting civilians during hostilities.

Another key motion involved investigating oil spill incidents, such as the Shell Forcados Export Pipeline rupture, to assess their ecological impact on communities in Delta and Bayelsa states.

Pondi has also pushed for maritime safety reforms, including mandating life-jackets and improving emergency response systems through motions introduced in 2016.

He serves on multiple committees, such as Industries, Water Resources, Ethics and Privileges, Tertiary Education and Services, Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, FCT Area Council, Human Rights, and Maritime Safety and Education.
