Biography

Marie Enenimiete Ebikake is a Nigerian politician and member of the 10th House of Representatives from the Brass-Nembe Federal Constituency, affiliated with the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Born on June 4, 1958, she previously served as a commissioner for transportation in Bayelsa State under Governor Seriake Dickson from 2012 to 2015.

Her political career was marked by allegations of opposing Governor Dickson’s reelection bid, including accusations of collaborating with Nigerian First Lady Patience Jonathan.

She was reportedly dismissed from her commission after these allegations surfaced, and she later coordinated the PDP Unity Group (PUG), allegedly using it to undermine Dickson’s administration.

Ebikake contested the 2019 Nembe/Brass Federal Constituency election on the PDP ticket but lost to APC candidate Israel Sunny-Goli, who secured 41,150 votes compared to her 19,279 votes.

Her election petition was dismissed due to lack of documentary evidence, and she failed to reclaim the mandate in subsequent appeals.

She ran again in the 2023 election on the same party ticket and successfully defeated Israel Sunny-Goli, who had previously defeated her in 2019.
