Ebikake Marie Enenimiete is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 House of Representative Elections as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Bayelsa.
Biography
Marie Enenimiete Ebikake is a Nigerian politician affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and represents Brass-Nembe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
She previously served as a commissioner for transportation in Bayelsa State under Governor Seriake Dickson from 2012 to 2015. Her tenure was marked by allegations that she collaborated with Nigerian First Lady Patience Jonathan against Dickson’s reelection, leading to her removal from office.
Ebikake held the role of PDP Unity Group coordinator and reportedly expressed opposition to Governor Dickson’s continued leadership during her time in government.
In the 2019 House of Representatives elections, she ran on the PDP ticket for the Nembe/Brass constituency but lost to Israel Sunny-Goli of APC, who secured 41,150 votes compared to Ebikake’s 19,279. Her election petition was dismissed due to insufficient documentary evidence.
She contested again in the 2023 elections on PDP’s ticket and successfully won against Sunny-Goli, who had previously defeated her.
