Uzamere Osdolor Andrew Edobor is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 State Houses of Assembly Elections as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Edo.
Biography
Andrew Edobor Uzamere is a Nigerian politician representing Ovia North-East Local Government Area II Constituency in Edo State’s House of Assembly.
Born on 22 September 1962, he comes from Benin City but his state of origin is Edo.
He began his education at St. Stephen's Primary School (1968–1973) before attending Eghosa Anglican Grammar School in Benin City for secondary studies (1974–1979).
He later studied Accountancy and Finance in the United States, earning a degree from SUNY College at Old Westbury (Long Island) between 1982 and 1985.
After returning to Nigeria, he worked as a staff accountant in corporate America before entering politics.
He contested for legislative office three times—2011, 2015, and 2019—before winning the 2023 Edo State House of Assembly election after four attempts.
Inaugurated on June 16, 2023, he served as Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Solid Minerals and Oil & Gas before being reassigned to oversee Public Accounts (PAC).
Long associated with the PDP, Uzamere officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July 2025 after years of speculation.
