Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba was born on 6 September 1975 in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State.
He is an indigene of Niger State and completed his primary education at Baptist Primary School, followed by secondary studies at Government Secondary School.
His tertiary education involved studying at the University of Abuja. Before entering politics, he operated as a businessman.
His political career began with election into the Federal House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, later securing another term from 2011 to 2015.
He has represented Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency since May 2011 as a member of the APC.
His legislative interests have included Education, Transportation, and Works. He has held various committee positions, including Chairman of the Population Committee (Reps) from June 2011 to May 2015, Vice-Chairman of Agricultural Colleges and Institutions Committee (Reps) from June 2015 to May 2019.
He served as Chairman of the House Committee for Federal Capital Territory from July 2019 until May 2023. Since July 2023, he has been Chairman of the Aviation Committee (Reps).
