Dan Iya Manir Muhammad

Manir Muhammad Dan Iya Sardaunan Kware is a Nigerian politician from Sokoto State’s Kware Local Government Area.

He served as Deputy Governor of Sokoto under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from 2018 until his resignation in 2023.

Born into a Muslim family, he attended Magajin Gari Model Primary School between 1977 and 1983 before proceeding to Science Secondary School, Farfaru (1983–1989).

A BSc graduate in Economics Education from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, he later earned additional qualifications such as a Higher Diploma in Accounting and Finance, a professional Diploma in Public Account and Audit, and diplomas/certificates in Computer Studies, Arabic, and Local Government Administration.

With a decade of service in the Nigerian Civil Service (1992–2002), he worked in Sokoto’s Local Government Service Commission before resigning as Principal Accountant.

He entered politics in 2003, initially serving as Sole Administrator of Kware Local Government Council. From 2004 to 2007, he held the position of Executive Chairman there.

Later, he became Chairman and Managing Director of Manmodiya Nigeria Limited and served as Special Advisor to former Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (2011–2015).

Governor Tambuwal appointed him a member of Sokoto State Executive Council in 2015, assigning him as Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development.

His tenure included oversight of local government affairs until his resignation from the state executive role.
