Abdullahi Aliyu Sabi is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2019 Senate Elections as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Niger.
Biography
Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, born on January 10, 1967, is a Nigerian veterinary surgeon and politician currently serving as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security.
He held the position of Senator for the Niger North Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023, representing the 8th and 9th National Assembly. During his tenure, he also served as Deputy Chief Whip in the 9th National Assembly.
Abdullahi won the Niger North Senatorial District election on March 28, 2015. He was re-elected in February 2019 with 161,420 votes, defeating Muhammad Sani Duba of the PDP, who received 77,109 votes.
In October 2022, he was conferred the Nigerian national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
