Political Career

Biography

Thaddeus Attah is a Nigerian politician elected as the member of the 10th National Assembly from Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State, representing the Labour Party (LP).

He contested the February 25, 2023 House of Representatives election against Banky W (Olubankole Wellington) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a well-known musical artist, and Babajide Obanikoro, an APC incumbent running for re-election. Initially perceived as an underdog, Attah’s campaign was largely overlooked before surprising voters with his victory.

In the election, he secured 24,075 votes to defeat Banky W (18,666) and Babajide Obanikoro (16,901). The result marked a major upset against two established candidates, partly attributed to LP’s presidential candidate Peter Obi’s influence. Attah’s win was widely noted for its unexpected nature amid his low initial perception.

The victory underscored the impact of political alliances and campaign strategies in Nigeria’s elections.
