Rahis Abdulkadir

Abdulkadir Rahis was born on 30 June 1968 and has been a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives since 2015, representing Maiduguri (Metropolitan) Federal Constituency in the APC.

He studied at the College of Science and Technology, Bama Local Government Area, Borno State, graduating in 1989.

His political career began in 1990 when he ran for Councilor in Shehuri South Ward of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.

In 1997, he became the Ward Chairman under the United Nigeria Democratic Party (UNDP).

He later joined the All People’s Party and served as its Treasurer in the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council from 1999 to 2001.

From 2001 to 2003, he held the position of Supervisory Councilor for Works in the same council.

Between 2006 and 2011, Rahis served as Borno State Youth leader before being appointed a special assistant by Governor Kashim Shettima.

He was appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council from 2012 to 2015.

In 2015, he won election as a member representing the Maiduguri (Metropolitan) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under APC.
