Biography

Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang was born on 12 March 1965 in Wussasa, Plateau State.

He completed primary education at LEA Primary School Ampang-West in Mangu Local Government Area from 1973 to 1977 before attending Boys Secondary School Gindiri, graduating in 1982.

After brief work in the Federal Office of Statistics and NBCI (Nigerian Bank for Commerce & Industry), he pursued further studies at the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi from 1983 to 1984.

He studied at the University of Jos between 1984 and 1988 before qualifying as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court through the Nigerian Law School in 1989.

During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna State, he was elected President of the Nigerian Christian Corpers’ Fellowship.

He served as Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area before becoming the Governor of Plateau State since 2023. He was sworn in on 29 May 2023.

Married to Helen Caleb Mutfwang with three children—Timothy, Nanbam, and Enoch—he practices Christianity and attends Church of Christ in Nations.
