Gbegudu Ololade James

Gbegudu Ololade James is a Nigerian politician serving as Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Okitipupa Constituency II.

Born in Igodan Lisa, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, he began his education at St. Theresa’s Primary School in Akure before proceeding to Unity Secondary School and Ife Grammar School in Osun State.

He earned a tertiary degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), James first became a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly through judicial selection in October 2019.

During his tenure as committee chairman for Security, Culture, Tourism, Community Development, and Cooperative Services, he drove legislative efforts on security reforms, including laws like the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) Law and Anti-Grazing Law.

Elected Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly on July 3, 2025, following a leadership reorganization within the legislature.
