Biography
Mohammed Bello El-Rufai is a Nigerian politician, son of the former Kaduna State governor Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai.
Born on January 11, 1988, in Kaduna, Nigeria, he holds qualifications including an FSLC and IGCSE, alongside a BSc in political science and international relations from Wheaton College, Massachusetts, and an MSc in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
He began his professional career as a manager at Huawei Nigeria before entering politics during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service in 2015. He co-founded the Rescue Kaduna Group (RKG), a political action committee, and served as director of youth mobilization for the Buhari Campaign Organization.
From 2019 to 2022, Bello worked as senior legislative aide and chief of staff to Senator Uba Sani, then-governor of Kaduna State. He later joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) and secured a seat in the House of Representatives for Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections with over 51,052 votes.
Since his election, he has served as chairman of the House Committee on Banking Regulations. He is also involved with foundations like the Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation (YELF) and Hamza El-Rufai Foundation (HELF).
