Adefiranye Ayodele Festus

Festus Ayodele Adefiranye is a former telecommunication engineer who transitioned into politics, serving as a Member of the House of Representatives in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly.

He represents the Ileoluji/Okeigbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency and originates from Okeigbo, Ondo State. His political career includes past roles in Ondo State’s House of Assembly, where he was a key figure.

Born in Okeigbo, Ondo State, he completed elementary and secondary education there before pursuing higher studies at the Federal School of Arts and Science Ondo (1988) and later graduated from the University of Lagos with an Applied Physics Electronics degree.

He earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. His professional background includes service as a Member of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Oko (Anambra State), 2017–2019.

In 2019, he joined the APC and contested Ondo’s Ileoluji/Okeigbo constituency, winning election to represent the state in its House of Assembly. He held key positions there, including Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.

His political ambitions extended to the federal level; in 2022, he expressed interest in running for the House of Representatives under APC for Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency. He was declared winner by INEC in February 2023.

Since assuming office as a Member of the House of Representatives, Adefiranye has sponsored and advocated on motions addressing critical issues like road rehabilitation (Ore-Ondo-Akure), fuel tanker explosions, and power projects in Okeigbo.

He also introduced legislation for the establishment of a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Okeigbo. A multifaceted individual, he is married with children and has received awards like the Excellent Service Award from Lions Clubs International.
