Abdullahi Ibrahim Danbaba

Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba was born in Sabon Birni, Sokoto State.

He attended Government Secondary School Gusan and earned his West African School Certificate (WAEC) in 1979.

He later obtained his National Certificate of Education (NCE) from the Advance Teachers College, Sokoto, in 1986.

Danbaba pursued further studies at the University of Sokoto, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Management in 1981. He also earned an Advanced Diploma in Accounting from Loton College of Higher Education, United Kingdom, in 1989.

Before entering politics, he worked as an accountant and later served as Deputy Governor of Sokoto State from 1999 to 2003.

He was first elected as Senator representing the Sokoto South Senatorial District in March 2015. His initial election was overturned by an election tribunal, but he was reinstated after judicial review in November 2019.

In June 2018, Danbaba briefly aligned with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
