Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 State Houses of Assembly Elections as the National Rescue Movement (NRM) candidate in Kano.
Biography
Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf was born on 5 November 1956 and is a Nigerian politician from Kano.
He served as the senator representing Taraba Central from 2015 to 2023.
Initially, he contested the 2015 Nigerian Senate elections on the APC platform but lost to the PDP candidate Bashir Marafa Abba. He later filed an election tribunal case and was declared the winner on 26 November 2015 after the tribunal and an Appeal Court overturned Marafa Abba’s victory.
Yusuf studied Economics at Ahmadu Bello University (BSc, 1980) and earned an MA in Economics from the University of East Anglia (1983). He previously worked as a faculty member at the University of Maiduguri.
