Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 State Houses of Assembly Elections as the National Rescue Movement (NRM) candidate in Kano.
Biography
Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf (born 5 November 1956) is a Nigerian politician who served as the senator representing the Taraba Central senatorial district from 2015 to 2023.
He contested for the Taraba Central senatorial district seat in the 2015 Nigerian Senate elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was defeated by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Bashir Marafa Abba.
He filed a case in the election tribunal and was declared the winner on 26 November 2015 after the election tribunal and an Appeal Court overturned Marafa Abba’s victory.
Born in Nguroje, he attended Ahmadu Bello University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics in 1980 and a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics from the University of East Anglia in 1983.
He served as a faculty member at the University of Maiduguri.
