Ojogo Donald Kimikanboh

Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo was born in Arogbo, Ondo State, on 25 October 1968.

His education began at Local Authority Primary School, Arogbo (1974–1980), followed by Ijaw National High School, Arogbo (1980–1985).

He briefly attended the Federal School of Arts and Science in Ondo but left due to financial constraints in 1986.

In 1990, he earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Lagos and later obtained a master’s in history and strategic studies.

His professional career started as a clerical officer at Ilaje/Ese-Odo Local Government Council in 1988.

After graduating in 1995, Ojogo transitioned into journalism, beginning with roles as an Energy Reporter at Guardian Newspaper (Lagos, 1996–1998).

He worked as Ondo State Correspondent for Comet Newspaper, later rising to Political Correspondent and Senior Political Correspondent at Daily Independent.

In 2007, he served as Press Secretary to Governor Olusegun Kokumo Agagu of Ondo State.

Returning to print media, he joined Nigerian Tribune and became the Political Editor for Daily Independent in Abuja. He also held positions at Leadership Newspapers Group (Group Politics Editor) and New Telegraph.

His political career included roles as Deputy Chief of Staff to Ondo State’s then-Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi (late 2010s), before serving as Commissioner for Lands & Housing (2017).

Later, he became Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ondo State.

Ojogo contested the House of Representatives seat under APC in 2019 but lost. He won reelection in the 2023 election as an APC candidate.
