Biography

Barry Barinada Mpigi was a Nigerian politician from Rivers State, born around 1961. He served as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, representing Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo constituency.

He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and was reelected in 2016. During his tenure, he also held the position of Senator for the Southeast Senatorial District of Rivers State from 2019 until his death.

Mpigi was affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) throughout his political career. His political career spanned the 9th and 10th Assemblies, including during President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term.

Barry Barinada Mpigi passed away on 19 February 2026, at the age of 64.
