Biography
Maria Ude Nwachi is a Nigerian politician and media personality with experience in state governance.
She initially served as the Minority Leader for Afikpo North East Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly from 2015 to 2019 under the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA).
In 2020, she later joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
During her tenure, she faced multiple suspensions: once in 2016 for leading a protest against EEDC complaints and again in 2018 over allegations of gross misconduct, including impersonating a public photographer.
Over four years in office, Nwachi was suspended on four occasions.
In 2019, she adopted Emeka Samuel Ndudi, a young artist, as her son.
She has also been recognized with awards, such as the Pulse Africa Facebook Influencer of the Year Award in 2023.
