Biography

Manu Haruna is a Nigerian politician born on 23 August 1973, representing Taraba Central Senatorial District since 2023.

He previously held the position of deputy governor of Taraba State from 2015 to 2023 and served as a member of the House of Representatives for Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2015.

Haruna holds a first degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State. He also has a master’s degree in Electronic Commerce from Carnegie Mellon University in the United States.

Certified as a Microsoft System Engineer, he worked previously with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and MTN Nigeria before founding various start-up firms.

He joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) late 2010. His political career began when he won the primary election for the Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency seat, representing the constituency in the National House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015.

During his tenure in the National Assembly, he served as deputy chairman of the House Committee on Banking and Currency and was a member of multiple committees. His contributions led to him being chosen as Darius Ishaku’s running mate for the PDP’s 2015 general election ticket.
