Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe

Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, born on December 9, 1970, is a Nigerian politician currently serving as Senator representing the Cross River North Senatorial District.

He previously held the position of House Representative for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2020 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In 2020, he won a by-election for the Cross River North Senatorial District. After an initial dispute, his victory was confirmed by the Supreme Court in July 2021, with his swearing-in on September 15, 2021.

He was reelected to the Senate in the 2023 general elections under the PDP. In October 2025, he officially defected from the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During his tenure as senator, Jarigbe has driven constituency development projects in Cross River North, including solar-powered boreholes and water supply schemes for rural communities.

He also launched educational support programs, such as bursary awards for students across multiple tertiary institutions in the district.

In 2026, Jarigbe expressed interest in seeking reelection ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Married with four children, he originates from Ibil in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. He attended basic studies at the School of Basic Studies in Port Harcourt and passed WASSCE in 1990.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Calabar (2004) and later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Baze University in November 2022.

His professional recognition includes awards such as Cross River Most Outstanding Senator of the Year (Yala Achievers Summit & Award, 2024), ICON of Humanitarian Service Award (2019), Legislator of the Year (2020), ICON of Nation Building Award (2021), and Global Peace and Humanitarian Award (2022).
