Gideon Lucas Gwani is a Nigerian politician born in Zaria, Kaduna State, and belongs to the Tyap ethnic group.
He practices Catholicism and has been associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prior to his political career, he served as House Minority Whip in Nigeria’s National Assembly.
Gwani competed in the 2023 House of Representatives elections for Kaduna State, running under the PDP banner. In this contest, he faced Mathew Donatus of the Labour Party. Though a seasoned politician with over 15 years of experience, Gwani lost to Donatus by a narrow margin—scoring 10,297 votes against Donatus’s 10,508 votes.
