Biography

Anamero Sunday Dekeri is a Nigerian politician from Edo State, representing the Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Born in Ogute-Oke, Okpella, Edo State, he comes from a family that traditionally engaged in pastoral farming.

He holds a First School Leaving Certificate from Ugbedudu Primary School and a Secondary School Certificate from Ogute-Oke Secondary School. Dekeri later earned a Bachelor of Law degree from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

An alumnus of Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, he supplemented his education by selling palm produce to Eastern Nigerian merchants, eventually traveling to Ibadan for contracts with companies needing raw materials.

He established Danco International Group and its subsidiary Gulf Treasure Ltd., expanding into a multinational enterprise.

The Anamero Idofe Anamero Foundation, founded by Dekeri, supports the poor and needy in his community through initiatives like scholarships, school infrastructure projects, and rural development programs.

Over 13 years, his foundation has supported over 10,000 students across Edo State, distributing books and awarding bursaries at institutions such as the University of Benin. It also provided borehole facilities, electrification, road repairs, and donated wheelchairs to people with disabilities.

Dekeri entered politics in 2019, winning election as a member of the House of Representatives under APC for Etsako Federal Constituency.

He has sponsored bills for key institutions like the Federal Medical Center in Uluoke and the Federal College of Technical Education in Okpella.

In 2023, Dekeri ran for Edo State governorship under APC, advocating platforms on education, health, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, and industrialization.
