Biography
Aniekan Etim Bassey is a Nigerian businessman and politician who currently serves as Senator for Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.
He held the position of Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, representing Uruan Constituency from 2015 to 2023. During this tenure, he also led roles such as Vice Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Chairman of the South-South Speakers Forum.
His Senate committee responsibilities include Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development, reflecting his focus on rural development initiatives.
Bassey established RHAB-YESS Foundation, an organization dedicated to mentoring young entrepreneurs and providing scholarships for indigent students in Akwa Ibom. The foundation also offers support to vulnerable widows through shelter programs.
His political career spans both state and national levels, with a background in agricultural development and legislative leadership.
