Bali Binkap Napoleon is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 Nigerian Senate Elections as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Plateau.
Biography
Napoleon Binkap Bali is a Nigerian retired Air Vice Marshal (AVM) and politician born on 28 November 1963.
He served in the Nigerian Air Force for about three decades, holding several senior military appointments including Command, instructional, and staff roles. He was Chief of Policy and Plans before retiring as an AVM.
After leaving the military, Bali joined the Peopleβs Democratic Party (PDP) and entered politics by contesting for a Senate seat in Plateau South Senatorial District during the 2023 elections.
Initially declared elected by INEC, his victory was later annulled by the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in September 2023. The Court of Appeal upheld this ruling, with Simon Bako Lalong subsequently declared the duly elected senator.
During his tenure in the Senate (JuneβSeptember 2023), Bali engaged in discussions on national and regional affairs. In August 2023, he publicly criticized military intervention in political crises in Niger, citing economic and security concerns.
