Badru Enitan Akanni Dolapo is a Nigerian politician who contested the 2023 House of Representative Elections as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Lagos.

Biography

Enitan Dolapo Badru, born on 30 January 1953 in Lagos Island, is a Nigerian politician and member of the House of Representatives representing Lagos Island I Federal Constituency.

He has held parliamentary positions since winning the general election in 2015 under the APC platform. His reelection was confirmed in 2019.

Educated with a Higher National Diploma in Education (1986), an MBA (1991), and a PhD in Business Administration (1997), he has a background in business administration.

He founded DOLBAD Insurance Brokers, a company he leads as Chairman. Before entering politics, he served as Special Adviser to former Governors Bola Tinubu (2003–2007) and Babatunde Fashola (2009–2017).

As a politician, he has sponsored key bills, including amendments to the National Mathematical Centre Act, Elderly and Vulnerable Persons Protection measures, and Government Infrastructural Continuity initiatives.

He co-sponsored alterations to Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution and a bill aimed at criminalizing human trafficking involving pregnancies, newborn sales, or harboring minors in such situations.

Badru also advocated for the Federal Government’s support after the Abule Ado gas explosion (2020) that caused casualties near Lagos International Trade Fair Complex.

He emphasizes youth and women empowerment as a strategic economic development approach. His initiatives include distributing vehicles, sewing machines to around 300 beneficiaries, and constructing six classrooms in Lagos Island.
