Biography

Daniel Effiong Asuquo is a Nigerian politician born on 4 June 1962 in Cross River State.

He is a former member of the House of Representatives, representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency. He was elected in 2011 and served until 2023, succeeding Lemke Emil Inyang.

Effiong previously served as the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Council in 1996 before becoming the council chairman.

From 2008 to 2010, he was the Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency.

In the 2023 elections, he ran as the Cross River South senatorial candidate and later decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest as a governorship aspirant for the Labour Party (LP).
