Biography
Ibikunle Amosun, born on 25 January 1958, is a Nigerian politician who has served as a former governor of Ogun State and a two-term senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He attended primary school at African Church Primary School in Abeokuta from 1965 to 1970, followed by African Church Grammar School in Abeokuta from 1971 to 1977. He later graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Ogun State Polytechnic in 1983.
Amosun became an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1990 and a Fellow in 1996. He also earned an Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in 1998.

He ran unsuccessfully for governor in April 2007 on the All Nigeria Peopleβs Party (ANPP) platform but was defeated by Gbenga Daniel. His petition was dismissed by the Ogun State Election Petitions Tribunal in August 2009.
