Bio

Othman Hunkuyi Suleiman is a Nigerian politician born on 17 July 1959, with FIRST SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE, SSCE, and Teachers College qualifications. He attended Kafanchan Teachers College and later Ahmadu Bello University, where he earned a B.Ed. in 1986.

He was elected chairman of Kudan Local Government Area in Kaduna State and later won election as senator for Kaduna North Senatorial District in the 2015 general elections, taking the seat after the 28 March 2015 poll. In public remarks, he said Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai had not been fair to the people of the state and vowed to work to unseat him in the 2019 election.

Hunkuyi later emerged as a gubernatorial aspirant of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) after leaving the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2022.
