Olujimi 'biodun Christine

Abiodun Christine Olujimi (born 25 December 1958) is a Nigerian politician affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Ekiti State. She served as Senator for Ekiti South from 2015 to 2023 and was the minority leader of the Nigerian Senate. Previously, she was a board member of the Nigerian Communications Commission and served as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State from November 2005 until her impeachment in October 2006.

Early life and education: Abiodun Christine Olujimi was born in Omuo, Ekiti State. Her education began at Our Lady of Apostles in Ibadan, Oyo State, and she later obtained a Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in 1976. She also earned degrees in Political Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing from the University of Abuja.

Career: Olujimi began her career as a broadcaster and journalist. She worked with notable publications and organizations, including the Nigerian Tribune, Nigerian Posts and Telecommunications, Nigerian Television Authority, Delta Steel Company, Ovwian Aladja, Reflex Concept, and DBN Television, where she managed DBN TV from 1993 to 1997.

Politics: She entered politics in 1997 as National Publicity Secretary for the now-defunct NCPN, later joining the All Progressive Congress (APC) and serving as its National Publicity Secretary. In 2002, she joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking the start of her significant political achievements. She was appointed Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Ekiti State in 2003, later elected to the Federal House of Assembly. She became Deputy Governor in 2005, held positions as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, and Director of Women Affairs before her impeachment. She contested and won the Senatorial seat for Ekiti South in 2015.
