Ngwu Osita

Osita Ngwu is a Nigerian politician and a member of the 10th Nigeria Senate, affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Born on January 1, 1978, he was elected to the Senate from the Enugu West Senatorial District in 2023. He originates from Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (2001) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University Roehampton, London Business School (2016). He is a member of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Mechanical Engineers Association (NMEA), and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

Ngwu began his career in the oil and gas industry, working as a trainee engineer and rising to become an Executive Director. He led major projects, including the OML Phase 1 - O.U.R 42 × 45Km gas pipeline and Shell Petroleum Development Company tanks upgrade. In 2016, he transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding a billion-naira business with over 500 employees.

His political journey began in 2018 when he initially sought to represent Udi/Ezeagu in the House of Representatives but withdrew. In 2023, he secured the PDP ticket for the Enugu West Senatorial District, winning 52,473 votes against Dennis Amadi’s 48,053 votes from the Labour Party (LP).

As a senator, Ngwu has prioritized constituency development, including projects like the construction of the Ogugu Ogbaku Link Road Phase 1 in Awgu LGA, solar-powered boreholes in Akpato Umulumgbe, Umuavulu Abor, Udi Town, and Umuaga Village Square, and the Amuka Okpatu town hall with boreholes in Udi LGA. He has also rehabilitated markets and infrastructure in Aninri, Mbogu Road (Oji River LGA), and other areas.
