Bio

Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (born 1958-10-05) is a Nigerian politician from Alkaleri, Bauchi State, and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He has served as governor of Bauchi State since 2019, after serving as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2010 to 2015 and as senator representing Bauchi South from 2007 to 2010.

He attended Duguri Primary School (1965-1971), Government School Bauchi (1972-1976), and North East College of Arts and Science, where he obtained his advanced level testimonial in 1979, before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maiduguri. He later completed a management course at ASCON in 1988 and earned a certificate from the Institute of Purchase and Supplies in 1997. Mohammed began his career in journalism in 1982 and moved into the civil service in 1984, rising through senior administrative roles across multiple federal institutions before retiring at director level in 2005 to pursue politics.
