Bio

Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun, born on 29 May 1960 in Iperu, Ogun State, is a Nigerian businessman and politician who has served as Governor of Ogun State since May 2019 and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He first entered politics during the aborted Abacha transition in 1998, remained active in politics until his election as governor in 2019, and was re-elected in 2023; both victories were described as coming by small margins.

Before assuming political office, Abiodun worked as an accountant, later built a business career in the 1990s, served as board chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission, became managing director of Heyden Petroleum, and founded First Power Limited. He is from the royal family of Iperu Remo in Ogun East senatorial district, the son of Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun and Mrs. Victoria Abiodun, and attended Christ's School Ado Ekiti (1972), St. Joseph's College, Ondo (1977), and Ondo High School (1978), with education also listed as Obafemi Awolowo University and Christ's School Ado Ekiti.
