Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha was born in Item, Abia State, on 22 March 1964. He was the ADC governorship candidate in Abia State during the 2023 general election, with Nwasimuo Hon Glory Ngozi as running mate, and he is described as founder and president of Vision Africa International, co-chair of the Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, and first chairman of youths for Abia State.

The source says he entered ministry work in 1983, was consecrated in the Nigerian Methodist Church in 2003, and was also described as being consecrated a Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria in 2006 after serving as the first Bishop of Evangelism at the Lagos headquarters. It adds that financial hardship interrupted his high school education, after which he moved to Aba to work as a tailor, prepared for a qualifying exam equivalent, studied at the Methodist Theological Institute in Sagamu and Immanuel College of Theology in Ibadan, earned a BA at the University of Ibadan, and traveled to the United States in 1995 for master's and doctoral studies at Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, where his doctoral thesis was titled Vision Africa.

He is further described as having served as a pastor, seminary professor, and mission and outreach worker. The profile also states that he was appointed special assistant on privatization in President Olusegun Obasanjo's cabinet in 2003, and recounts his testimony of a camp gathering on 25 May 1978 that, by his account, shaped his commitment from age 14 to spend his life sharing Christian love.
