Bassey Albert Akpan CON (born 28 October 1972) is a Nigerian politician and grassroots figure from Ididep Usuk village in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Born into the family of Chief Albert Robert Akpan, he built an early professional career in banking after graduating from the University of Uyo with a bachelor's degree in Economics (Second Class Upper) and earning an MBA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He worked at United Bank for Africa in International Operations and Consumer/Retail Banking, later served as Manager in the Corporate Banking Group at Continental Trust Bank, and then became Uyo Branch Manager at First Inland Bank Plc, where he won regional and national branch performance awards in the 2004 financial year. Akpan served as Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Finance from 2007 to 2014 before moving to the National Assembly. He was elected in March 2015 to represent Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, re-elected in February 2019, and served in the 8th and 9th Senates until January 2023. He later contested the 2023 Akwa Ibom governorship election on the Young Progressives Party (YPP) ticket with Anwana Asuquo Amba as running mate and polled 136,316 votes.
